André Hampton has been associated with the Firm since 1991. Mr. Hampton graduated with highest honors from the University of Texas at Austin (Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi) in 1979 and received a Bachelors of Arts in Plan II Honors Program. He received joint degrees in 1984: a Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Texas Law School, where he was a member of the Texas Law Review, and a Masters of Public Affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs.
Mr. Hampton practiced for eight years with GRAVES, DOUGHERTY, HEARON & MOODY in health law and general business. His practice has also included bankruptcy, commercial and real estate transactions, and litigation support for various types of cases, including officers and directors and professional liability cases.
Mr. Hampton was an adjunct professor at the University of Texas Law School, where he taught a seminar in health law. Mr. Hampton is also a law professor at St. Mary’s Law School in San Antonio. He is active in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), having served as President of the Austin Dispute Resolution Center (1989-1990), Co-Chair for the Travis County Settlement Week (1991), and Co-Chair of the Funding and Legislation Subcommittee of the State Bar Committee on ADR (1991). He is a Dispute Resolver for the National Health Lawyers Dispute Resolution Service, and a member of the Austin Mediators Society.
